Day to Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Venice, Italy: Depart 17.00
On arrival in Venice you will be transferred to the port where you will board the luxurious 4 Star MSC Musica. You can take this day to relax and take in all of the amazing features your cruise ship has to offer. In the evening you will set sail.
Day 2: Brindisi, Italy: Arrive 13.00 Depart 19.00
An unforgettable experience could just be to while away your holiday time in a bar or restaurant in Brindisi’s old town. The old town has a pleasant, almost oriental flavour about it, with a few hidden gems tucked down its narrow streets. Via Colonne, with its seventeenth- and eighteenth-century palazzi, runs up to Brindisi’s Duomo – a remarkable building, if only for the fact that it’s survived seven earthquakes since its construction in the eleventh century. Just outside is the Museo Archeologico Provinciale.
Day 3: At Sea:
Day 4: Heraklion (Crete), Greece: Arrive 08.00 Depart 18.00
Heraklion is the largest of the Crete islands and is also the administrative centre. The Bronze Age palace of Knossos, also known as the Palace of Minos, is located nearby.
Days 5 & 6: Transiting the Suez Canal:
Today sees you pass through the Suez Canal, connecting the Red Sea and the Mediterranean. It beholds inspiring scenery.
Day 7: Eilat, Israel: Arrive 09.00 Depart 23.55
Eilat averages 360 sunny days a year with warm seas all year round. The city’s beaches, coral reef, nightlife and desert landscapes make it a popular destination for domestic and international tourism.
Day 8: Aqaba, Jordan: 07.00 Depart 19.00
This vibrant coastal town is Jordan’s only sea port, offering an unmissable opportunity to journey through the Wadi Rum desert immortalized by Lawrence of Arabia and then explore the unique ancient city of Petra, hewn into the pink sandstone rock. Aqaba itself offers abundant archaeological sites alongside the superb beach life, diving and water sports for which the Red Sea is renowned.
Day 9 – 15: At Sea
Day 16: Port Victoria, Seychelles: Arrive 06.00 Depart 18.00
Port of Victoria, is located in Seychelles, an archipelago in the Indian Ocean, northeast of Madagascar. Port-Victoria has no fixed handling equipment. Ships are handled through ship’s gear by the private stevedores. Port Victoria is the capital city of the Seychelles (smallest African capital) and is situated on the north-eastern side of Mahé, which is the main island of the archipelago. The city was first established as the seat of the British colonial government.
Day 17 – 18: At Sea
Day 19-20: Port Louis, Mauritius Arrive 08.00 OVERNIGHT Depart 17.00
Port Louis has taken its role as the country’s first city seriously and has expanded over time with new streets, buildings and a beautiful promenade. After our cruise ship has docked, you will be able to take a stroll along the Caudan Waterfront, lined with some old cannons and numerous shops. Traces of Port Luis’s colonial past can be seen on Place D’Armes, where the statue of Bertrand François Mahé, the count of La Bourdonnais and a former governor of the island, observes passers-by surrounded by palm trees.
A short distance away, stands the Government House. Dating from 1738, it is shaped like a horseshoe and protected by an iron fence guarded by the statue of a grave-looking Queen Victoria. In the same neighbourhood, there are also the central market and the city park, the Jardins de la Compagnie. However, it is a former property of the Count de La Bourdonnais to house an even more spectacular garden, the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden.
Day 21: Pointe des Galets, Reunion: Arrive 07.00 Depart 17.00
Cruise ships rarely visit the port of La Possession, on the splendid Punta des Galets. This makes it one of the most unique stops of an MSC cruise to Southern Africa. As soon as you disembark, you can head off on an excursion to the so-called Circus of Salazie, the remains of an enormous volcanic caldera located a few kilometres from La Possession.
Instead of geysers of lava, extinguished centuries ago, you will find an explosion of life, where marvels of nature live side by side with small towns scattered throughout a lush forest. The view you will enjoy as you ascend along the windy road is indescribable. However, not all of the fire has gone out. In the Piton de la Fournaise, you can still admire two active volcano craters, the Dolomieu and the Bory, which filled with lava in 2007.
Day 22 – 24: At Sea
Day 25: Durban, South Africa: Arrive 07.00
Once you disembark from the cruise ship you will be whisked away to a 4 Star hotel. The crisp beaches of Durban with its picturesque views of the Indian Ocean offer a sense of paradise. Durban offers a beautiful contrast of busy urban culture, its heritage and close in distance to the Valley of a Thousand Hills, where the Zulu drum still beats.
Day 26: Durban, South Africa
Today is your final day and you will be transferred to the airport where you will get on an overnight flight to Dublin.
24 Nights accommodation aboard the 4 Star MSC Musica, operated by MSC Cruise Line. 1 Night’s stay in a 4 Star hotel in Durban, South Africa.
