Day to Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Corfu Town, Corfu: Departs 23.00

Following your flight, you will be transferred to the port to board Marella Discovery.

Awash with colourful flowers, Corfu is big on beauty. It’s known as the Emerald Isle, and its golden beaches, lush green landscape and colourful villages will have you constantly reaching for your camera.

• Soak up the views at Bella Vista, Corfu’s most famous lookout point. From here, you can peer over sleepy seaside villages like Paleokastritsa, and the island’s entire west coast.
• In Corfu Town itself, stand in the shadow of two gigantic fortresses. See the 16th-century church of Ayios Spyridhon. And then wander round the interesting archaeological museum.
• Relax on the shimmering sands of Glyfada beach, one of the most popular sunning spots on the island. Top up your tan. Take a dip in the crystal waters. Or simply laze beneath a hot sun.

Day 2: At Sea:

Day 3: Koper Slovenia: Arrive 07.00 Depart 23.00

Set along a wide horseshoe-shaped bay, Koper’s a Medieval town where old and new go hand-in-hand. Lose yourself in the maze of streets, passing historical sights and browsing chic shops along the way.

• Be inspired by nature with a trip to the Postojna Caves.
• Pay a visit to the picturesque town of Piran or ‘little Italy’ as it’s also known. This place has held tight to its medieval roots – cue winding lanes, sleepy squares and pretty churches.
• Make your way to the capital, Ljubljana, and take a look at the National Museum of Slovenia. It’s home to a collection of ancient Palaeolithic artefacts, as well as the only Egyptian mummy in the country.
• Head for old Koper. Carved in limestone, it’s a striking white vision of beautiful architecture and elegant squares.

Day 4: Venice, Italy: Arrive 08.00 Depart 18.00

With 117 islands, 150 canals and more than 400 bridges, it’s time to swap your cruise ship for a gondola and embark on an affair to remember in one of the world’s most romantic cities.

• Take a ride on a gondola as you weave your way through the maze of canals in this fabulous floating city.
• Make the most of everything St Mark’s Square has to offer. Tick off St Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, the Bridge of Sighs and the Campanile before giving your credit card a workout in the designer shops.
• Go behind the scenes at one of the glass factories on the island of Murano, then head to neighbouring Burano, which is famous for its lace making.
• Wander over the Rialto to see the Grand Canal. The banks of this huge waterway are lined with more than 180 buildings, which date back to the 13th and 18th century.

Day 5: Split, Croatia: Arrive 09.00 Depart 18.00

Over the past few years, Split has been staking its claim on the city-break map of Europe. Right in the heart of the Dalmatia region, this heart-stealer of a city has got pavement cafés, plenty of history, and a confetti of islands sprinkled off its coast.

• Navigate your way to the Cathedral of St Domnius, whose 13th-century oak doors depict scenes from Christ’s life, then delve into the shops and bars in the surrounding warren of lanes.
• Take a trip to the waterfalls at Krka, where the cascades of white water cover a 2-mile area.

Day 6: Dubrovnik, Croatia: Arrive 08.00 Depart 23.00

Ancient city walls. Higgledy-piggledy red rooftops. Cobbled streets worn by time. That’s Dubrovnik, a heart-stealing city that you just know you’re going to love the moment you arrive.

• Check out the 17th-century cathedral in the old town, with its striking gold and silver ruins. Then make tracks for Rector’s Palace, the former residence of Dubrovnik’s Republic Rector. It houses an impressive collection of artefacts and furniture.
• Leave the city behind and set sail for the nearby Elaphite Islands. All pine forests, beaches and olive groves, this trio offer up plenty in the way of Kodak-worthy scenery.

Day 7: Kotor, Montenegro: Arrive 08.00 Depart 17.00

For years, the travel-savvy have kept Montenegro under their sunhats. But now the cat’s creeping out of the bag – and it’s hardly surprising. A tiny republic in southeast Europe, the scenery here will have your jaw dropping to the floor the moment you arrive. Cruise passengers get the best vistas – as you sail in to port, you’ll be treated to wide-angle views of patent-shine lakes and green mountains.

• Explore Kotor, a gorgeous Medieval walled city with World Heritage status. The scenery here is definitely something to write home about. Surrounded by mountains, it’s set on southern Europe’s deepest fjord and one of the world’s most spectacular natural harbours. Delve inside the age-old walls and discover crooked streets, cobbled piazzas and camera-worthy churches.
• Take a trip to Budva. It’s the most popular tourist destination on Montenegro’s map – and quite rightly so. Beautiful architecture meets seductive sandy beaches in this spot. Perhaps that’s why many a millionaire has decided to live here.
• Visit one of Montenegro’s sleepy towns on market day and watch the streets burst into life with colourful craft stalls selling lace, leather and ceramics.

Day 8: Corfu Town, Corfu: Arrive 07.00

Your cruise ends today with your arrival in Corfu. Disembarkation begins after breakfast when you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home.

7 Nights accommodation aboard the Marella Discovery. (See ship info tab for more information on Marella Discovery)

Marella Discovery

Marella Discovery is one of the biggest ships in the fleet, with highlights like an outdoor cinema, a rock climbing wall, a mini-golf course, five-storey atrium and an indoor pool. You can expect all the Marella Cruises trademarks, like a fantastic dining scene, a show lounge to rival the West End, and smart, contemporary interiors. And the best bit – on Marella Discovery, everyone goes All Inclusive. This means your drinks, including prosecco and cider, plus meals in five restaurants and most onboard activities will all be part of the deal.

  • 11 DECKS
  • 918 CABINS
  • BARS

All our cabins come with… Air-conditioning • Hairdryer • Flatscreen TV • Wardrobe space • Tea and coffee-making facilities • Safe

You can watch movies under a star-lit sky at the ship’s outdoor cinema. Indoors, there are nightly shows in our Broadway Show Lounge, and pianists and acoustic musicians take to the stage in the atrium – an elegant space that changes colour when the sun goes down. The plush casino, meanwhile, is the place to head for a late-night flutter.

The ship’s open-air pool comes with the bonus of built-in hot tubs. You’ll find a second pool indoors, plus a slew of treatment cabins at the Oceans Gym and Spa. If you want to up the pace, head out to the rock climbing wall – a Marella Cruises first – or practice your putt on the minigolf green.

There are seven dining spots to choose from, including a main restaurant spread over two storeys, and two speciality restaurants – which showcase spectacular views from a setting on the top floor. For afternoon tea and after-dinner cocktails, meanwhile, you’ll have seven bars and lounges to dip in and out of.

Surf & Turf Steakhouse
As its name suggests, this speciality restaurant majors in the likes of marbled steaks and meaty lobster tails. You’ve also got other meat and fish options, as well as plenty to satisfy a vegetarian palate. You’ll pay a cover charge to eat dinner here.

Sushi Bar
Spicy tuna rolls, salmon sashimi and seabass nigiri are all on the menu at this sushi bar, which is tucked inside Kora La. Plus, you can wash it down with beers from all over Asia – think Tiger, Cobra and Singha. There’s a charge to dine here, and you’ll need to book, too.

Kora La
Our signature pan-Asian speciality restaurant makes an appearance onboard Marella Discovery. You’ll find dishes created by renowned chef Ian Pengelley such as his duck and watermelon salad. The menu covers off south and east Asia, featuring dishes like Indian spiced king prawns, and Indonesian beef rendang curry. A cover charge applies for dining here, and you’ll need to make a reservation.

Big buffet spreads are laid out in this restaurant, with show-cooking stations on-hand to offer things like breakfast omelettes, and carvery roasts in the evening. You can grab snacks in between meals, too.

Snack Shack
Festival food stalls and iconic British beach huts provided the inspiration for this grab ‘n’ go eatery. This means you can expect to pick up things like bacon butties for breakfast, and sweet chilli chicken wings, mezze salads and focaccia sandwiches in the afternoon.
