Day to Day Itinerary:
Day 1-2: Singapore: 5* Hotel Overnight.
Day 3: Singapore: Depart 18.00
This morning, after breakfast at your hotel, you will be collected and transferred to the dock to board the magnificent 6* Silversea Silver Shadow. You will have the day to settle in and explore the facilities on board before your ship departs this evening.
Day 4: Port Klang (Kuala Lumpur), Malaysia: Arrive 09.00 Depart 19.00
Kuala Lumpur, or KL as locals refer to it, intrigues visitors with its diversity and multicultural character. The city’s old quarter features stretches of shop houses that hint at its colonial past, while modern buildings—including the iconic Petronas Towers—give a glimpse of its modern financial ambitions. The city is filled with culturally colourful quarters dedicated to Chinese, Malay, and Indian communities. New shopping malls with designer labels, five-star hotels, and top-notch restaurants also proliferate in this bustling city of 1.6 million.
Day 5: Penang, Georgetown, Malaysia: Arrive 08.00 Depart 18.00
An island off the northwest coast of peninsular Malaysia, Penang is blessed with a multicultural history that’s led to a fascinating fusion of East and West. Claimed by the British East India Company in 1786, the island’s city center of Georgetown—listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site—is filled with colonial architecture, temples, and museums. The island has also attracted many Chinese immigrants, who now make up the majority of the population. On Penang you’ll find an exciting mix of jungle, coast, farmland, and fishing villages, along with the country’s largest Buddhist temple.
Day 6: Phuket, Thailand: Arrive 08.00 Depart 17.00
Phuket is one of the region’s economic powerhouses—millions of tourists visit the island every year, enjoying the many delights that are offered in this established resort island. Phuket is a modern, vibrant island with more than 6 million annual visitors, a number that is only increasing year-to-year. If you’ve never been to Phuket, you will likely love it; returning visitors will find a new island that eagerly greets its next wave of tourism. Koh Phuket is linked to the mainland by a causeway, and the rest of the world by an international airport. Its indented coastline and hilly interior make the island seem larger than its 48-km (30-mile) length and 21-km (13-mile) breadth.
Day 7: Day at Sea:
While we’re at sea, enjoy wine tastings, designer boutiques, language and dance classes. Take in a matinee movie, check the market or your e-mail in the Internet Point, slip away with a novel from the library to a sunny chaise or with a movie to your suite. Or just take in the sun pool side. The choice is yours.
Day 8-10: Yangon, Myanmar (formerly Burma): Arrive 08.00 Depart 14.00
The capital until 2006, Yangon (Rangoon) is Myanmar’s largest city and its commercial center. It is truly developing, and full of juxtapositions: new high-rises abut traditional Southeast Asian shophouses while down the street from a frozen yogurt bar, a sidewalk dentist goes to work. Yangon’s rich collection of colonial architecture is one of its biggest draws; The Strand and its surrounding side streets look today much as they did at the turn of the century, when Yangon—then Rangoon—was under British rule.
Day 11-12: At Sea:
Day 13: Malacca, Malaysia: Arrive 08.00 Depart 20.00
With a fascinating multicultural history, Malacca is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site with much to explore. It was a trading center with China, India, and Indonesia, and was at one time occupied by Arabs, Portuguese, Dutch, and British, resulting in an abundance of historical sites and an interesting local cuisine.
Day 14: Singapore: Arrive 08.00 5* Hotel Overnight.
On arrival in Singapore, after you disembark the cruise ship you will be met at the port and transferred to a 5* hotel for a night in dazzling Singapore.
Day 15: Singapore:
Following breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home to Ireland.
