Day to Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Hamburg: Depart 19:00

Following a flight from Dublin to Hamburg you will be transferred to the port to board the 4* MSC Preziosa where you will begin your journey.

Located between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, Hamburg will fascinate you from the moment you first set eyes on its elegant and austere buildings looking onto the port, one of the largest in Europe.

Day 2: At Sea:

Day 3: Invergordon, Scotland: Arrive 08:00 Depart 15:00

Invergordon – located at the head of a beautiful firth in the stunning Scottish Highlands – boasts stunning scenic beauty and epic landscapes to explore, and serves as a gateway to the mystical waters of Loch Ness – home of the legendary Loch Ness Monster.

Day 4: At Sea:

Day 5: Akureyri, Iceland: Arrive 10:00 Depart 18:00

Located in Northern Iceland, Akureyri is a spectacular town best known for its spectacular landscapes, lush vegetation and its diverse wildlife. The perfect destination for nature lovers, the waters surrounding the town are teaming with rare, native species such as humpback whales, minke whales, white-beaked dolphins and porpoises to go in search of.

The magnificent Eyjafjörður is the longest fjord in Iceland. Situated at the edge of the Arctic circle, the fjord lies on the migratory routes of many species of whales and birds so it’s the perfect place to observe fascinating wildlife in their natural habitat. The Eyjafjörður is narrow, so during a scenic cruise through the fjord, you’ll get closer to the stunning natural landscapes, creating incredible photo opportunities.

Day 6: Ísafjörður, Iceland: Arrive 08:00 Depart 17:00

Perched on a sand-spit jutting out into an inlet on one of northwest Iceland’s deepest fjords, Ísafjörður has a fine natural harbour which has made this one of the country’s main fishing and trading centres for over 250 years.

Days 7 & 8: Reykjavik, Iceland: Arrive 08:00 Overnight stay Depart 16:00

Reykjavik – Iceland’s stunning capital – is the country’s cultural centre. Home to a number of museums, galleries and exhibitions and boasting an impressive array of cafes, restaurants and bars, there is so much to enjoy in this vibrant, picturesque city.

Located in southwest Iceland – an area characterised by vast peninsulas, coves, straits and islands – Reykjavik is only a short distance from some of the country’s most beautiful natural wonders and interesting locations. The Blue Lagoon Spa, the Thingvellir National Park and the Althing – the world’s oldest parliament – are all within easy reach. The renowned Gullfoss waterfall, ‘Golden Falls’ and the incredible Geysir hot springs are slightly further afield, but are worth making the effort to visit.

Day 9: At Sea:

Day 10: Kirkwall, UK: Arrive 08:00 Depart 18:00

Kirkwall feels more Scandinavian than Scottish: in fact, the name comes from the Norse for “Church Bay”. The church in question is the 11th century Church of Saint Olaf of Norway. St Magnus Cathedral in the town was founded in memory of Saint Magnus Erlendsson by the Norseman Earl (later Saint) Rögnvald Kali.

The Cathedral has been restored over recent years and the work is still continuing. It’s well worth visiting, as are the nearby ruins of the former Bishop’s Palace, dating from the middle of the 12th century, and Earl’s Palace, said to have been the finest Renaissance building in Scotland. Kirkwall has two excellent museums as well: Tankerness House, a beautifully preserved 16th-century town-house, has historic collections of major importance; while the Orkney Wireless Museum has comprehensive displays about the history of radio.

Day 11: At Sea:

Day 12: Hamburg, Germany: Arrive 07:00
