Day to Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Havana, Cuba: Overnight stay
On arrival in Havana, you will be transferred to the port to board MSC Opera.
Day 2: Havana, Cuba: Overnight Stay
When you reach Havana, you will be immediately struck by the city’s sensuality. It’s buildings have sinuous lines, and its colours and spiced aromas are intoxicating. The aroma of the city’s famous cigars floats through the air, beaches of sugary hues smoothly transition into transparent waters of the sea, music accompanies the captivating movements of the Caribbean dances, and cars from a different century create a moving exhibit in the streets of the city centre.
Day 3: Havana, Cuba: Depart 18.00
Havana is famed for its history and culture. It is home to exquisite architecture, classic American cars and cobbled streets and squares, alive with the irresistible rhythms of mambo. Take a stroll around Habana Vieja – Old Havana – to soak up the Latin atmosphere.
Day 4: At Sea:
A day to relax and enjoy the fantastic facilities on board.
Day 5: Montego Bay*, Jamaica: Arrive 08.00 Depart 18.00
Located along the northwest coast of Jamaica, Montego Bay is one of the most important cities of the island; it is thought that Christopher Columbus anchored his ships here in 1494 when he “discovered” Jamaica on his way from Cuba; he called the new country Santiago.
The lively city centre is dominated by Gloucester Avenue, the main street or “Hip Strip”, where tourists and locals stroll and investigate different bars; in the centre, one can also admire the St. James Parish Church, an 18th century religious building in Georgian style surrounded by a lush tropical garden.
Day 6: Georgetown, Cayman Islands: Arrive 09.00 Depart 15.00
The Cayman Islands are home to the famous Stingray City where you can swim with and feed wild (gentle) stingrays! The island is also home to a turtle farm which is at the forefront of the conservation effort.
The houses on the narrow George Town streets are interspersed with artisan workshops, where you can find some rarities to take home as a reminder of your cruise. You can take a plunge into the history of the island at the dual-purpose National Museum of George Town: you can both explore samples of the most interesting endemic flora and fauna, and trace the long and tough inhabited history of the island.
Day 7: Cozumel, Mexico: Arrive 10.00 Depart 18.00
Cozumel is a Mecca for Scuba divers and snorkellers, but if you’re not a diver, there’s a certain appeal in wandering the relaxed inland blocks of San Miguel, away from the piers, spotting Maya ruins and exotic birds.
Day 8: Havana, Cuba: Arrive 15.00
On disembarkation in Havana you will be transferred to the airport for your return overnight flight to Dublin.
* On the following departure dates the cruise visits Ocho Rios in Jamaica instead of Montego Bay:
- 14th January
- 11th March
- 01st April
Ochos Rios means eight rivers in Spanish, and it precisely its rivers, as well as its crystalline sea, that are its main characteristics; characteristics that will not disappoint visitors to Jamaica wishing to immerse themselves in the lush vegetation of these marvellous dream locations.
Just like a mirage, the white buildings of Ochos Rios seems to appear unexpectedly from lush vegetation covering the coast. On Main Street, you will be able to shop or pass your day on solid ground.
