Day to Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Dublin to Tokyo:
Depart from Dublin on your overnight flight to Tokyo.
Day 2: Dublin to Tokyo:
On arrival in Tokyo, after your overnight flight, you will be taken to a 4-star hotel in the city for a one night stay, with breakfast.
Day 3: Tokyo: Depart 19.00
Even though Tokyo is among the largest cities in the world, it’s still able to maintain efficiency and charm. A short distance outside the city is a whole different world. In the small towns and villages you’ll get a glimpse into Japan’s rich culture.
Day 4: At Sea
Day 5: Aomori, Japan: Arrive 09:00 Depart 18:00
Aomori is the northernmost prefecture on Japan’s main island of Honshu. The triangular Aspam Tourism Centre has an observation deck that offers spectacular views of the harbour and city.
Day 6: Hakodate, Japan: Arrive 09:00 Depart 19:00
Built on a narrow strip of land between Hakodate Harbour to the west and the Tsugaru Strait to the east, Hakodate (函館) is the southern gateway to the island of Hokkaidō. Under the Kanagawa Treaty of 1854, the city was one of the first ports to open up to international trade, and as such hosted a small foreign community. That influence can still be seen in the Motomachi district, a steep hillside that’s sprinkled with European buildings and churches; the waterfront lined with red-brick warehouses; and in the nostalgic streetcar that still makes the rounds of the city.
Day 7: Sapporo (Muroran), Japan: Arrive 07:00 Depart 19:00
Located in western Hokkaido, Sapporo is the largest city on the island. Within the city, Odori Avenue Park is a stunning space filled with beautiful sculptures, fountains and 92 species of trees, while the nearby Sapporo City Clock has been marking time for over a century.
Days 8-9: At Sea
Day 10: Petropavlovsk, Russia: Arrive 07:00 Depart 19:00
Petropavlovsk is one of the oldest towns in the country. Located in the sheltered Avacha Bay, it offers remarkable scenery throughout the peninsula as it’s framed by a multitude of snow-capped mountains and volcanoes.
Days 11-12: Cruising International Date Line:
This imaginary line runs roughly parallel to the 180° longitudinal line. As you travel east you’ll subtract 24 hours from your current time, and add 24 hours as you travel west across it.
Days 13-17: At Sea:
Day 18: Vancouver, Canada:
Ranked in the world’s top 5 cities for quality of life, on a clear day you’ll see as far as distant Mount Baker. Find Nirvana amongst the ferns and lofty cedars in Stanley Park, taste oysters in Granville Island market, and explore historic Gastown.
Following disembarkation, you will be transferred to the airport to get your flight home to Dublin.
